Hi guys,

I bought a Jebao MCP-120 to go on the oppsoite side of a Redsea reefwave 45 in my Redsea 425XL reef tank.

I seem to be struggling getting this set-up to work properly. Even on the lowest frequency of 30 it seems to flow so hard against my corals making them close up.

have I got this set-up facing the right direction? The gyre on the right side of tank is the Jebao!

Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe it is just me but every Jebao pump I have bought was over powered. I usually turn them all the way down and slightly bump up until I am happy.

I’ve actually already set it on 30 frequency which is as low as it gets. Maybe I need to do what @Orito suggested and try to turn the sides a bit.

It's amazing what adjusting a little more to the surface can do in terms of flow.

I've also felt the Jebao's were pretty overpowered, fine for my last tank though :)

It’s so dang powerful! My only issue is it’s causing some of my corals to swing too much like the toadstool and the finger leather seems to be closing up its polyps and folding over to one side

Even the angle it's pointing at the glass can do a lot.

Took me weeks to find patterns that would just move all the sand.

Maybe I'm wrong, but you know that frequency is just the interval between the waves in this pump to lower the power you need to adjust the speed

Yh you are right sorry. I have lowered the power to 30 which is lowest I can do.
