Seems like the wiring is deteriorating or something is chewing on it?

Anyone else experience this issue ? It's only 8 months old. Shall I replace them immediately to prevent shocking the tank.

That's unfortunate. I got a pair of those for Christmas but haven't installed them yet :confused:. Hopefully it's only cosmetic.

Thought it was algae at first. Texture is rough. Tried scrubbing it off. I'm about to just get some black epoxy and coat it.

Use heat shrink tubing! I have a similar look on mine but it seems to just be some algae growing.
