Does anyone know of or have a good reference for easily reviewing the Jebao wavemaker lineup? They have several models and I’m a bit confused on which ones are older or have which features.

I’m specifically interested in pumps for a fluval 32.5.

I was hoping to find a “budget” option for now. I think that’s what lead me to Jebao.

I think what you're looking for is this... I'll use the Nero-style SLW as an example, but it fits for almost all the Jebao powerheads, gyres and return pumps.

SLW-10 - Original Nero style powerhead, blue blades, analog controller, no wifi

SLW-10m - Same powerhead, still with blue blades, new analog controller that adds wifi

MLW-10 - Newer digital controller with wifi, purple blades

ALW-10 - Updated controller, still wifi, white-ish blades

ELW-10 and ELW-10m - Different updated digital controller, back to blue blades, two different options for controller, both wifi, but the 10m offers "AP" connectivity, meaning you can access/control it via its own wifi directly without connecting it to your home wifi.

The same basic naming applies to the SOW/MOW/AOW/EOW, SCP/MCP/ACP/ECP and even return pumps SDP/MDP/EP. etc, etc.

Does that help?

Can anyone speak to ELW reliability?

It's the same pump as they've been using since the SLW era. I have a pair of MLWs that have been running continuously for several years now with nominal cleaning.

With anything electronic, it's a roll of the dice. There will always be lemons, but all my MLWs and ELWs are running without issue, several for quite a while now.

I cannot. I actually went with the Hygger brand wave makers. Which have been okay. I can’t say I’m blown away but we get what we pay for and they are both still working.

Hopefully someone else will answer your question about the ELW.

I prefer the non wifi models as the wifi ones seem to have the most trouble. I have slw30's that have been running for years in my frag tank and scp150's in my display and just got some of the mp40 clones that have Bluetooth and so far so good but haven't had them long enough to comment on reliability.

Haha! I'm the exact opposite. I have a BUNCH of the wifi pumps running with no issues. I got a couple of the new bluetooth ones and, while they run fine for me, I'm not a big fan. They did connect to the app much faster/easier, but they're not as quick to get connected to in the app (and you have to be closer to them) for activating feed mode, etc.

Just old school I guess and prefer the controller models, I don't even use Bluetooth on the mp clones just programed with the controller. I live in a hurricane prone area and typically lose wifi and power sometimes for days and have to run generator power so I try to keep everything super simple or Bluetooth if I have to like dosing pumps and such.
