Looks like it could be-I've got the mind trick, same blue rim, greenish body, red polyps.

Is there reason to think the seller was not being honest, or just unsure on what they had? Just curious why you question it

Anyway looks the same

i got it from a lfs and when i asked if it was a jedi mind trick monti the employee said uhhh yea. i still bought it cause its real nice and it has developed a really nice aqua color so i just wanted input. thanks for the replies guys

It could just be another type but the store wasn't specific happens to me sometimes

Seems like you might know what you're looking at more than the guy at the store lol

sometimes it pays to no more than the guy who is selling u the corals lol

If his answer was "uhhh yea" that is not enough to label that coral with Jedi Mind Trick lineage IMO. I have a Montipora that looks like JMT but it was a wild piece. Separately they look the same next to each other they look a little different and one is much hardier than the other, and needs different lighting and water flow. By calling yours JMT you could potentially kill the frag trying to replicate the husbandry for a different coral.

It's a colorful encrusting Montipora. You're not going to get a more honest ID than that, for now.
