quick answer: high lights yield better colors for this particular coral (not all sps will act the same)..

the first picture of the hw is placed lower in my tank.. if you notice, the base is more green vs. the base of the second picture (it's more yellow-orange in color)....
 
Seeing the exact same results in my tank. Highest up colony yields pinks and blues and greens, lowest down colony is much more green in the base and bluish tips, green polyps
