Does anyone know if the juicy fruit Montipora encrusts only or plates as well?

I'm always curious - what does this look like under normal light?

it's encrusting but can plate out when there's nothing left to encrust
it looks awesome it real life

Looks like a montipora palawanensis. It will plate eventually. Plating and encrusting is like a square/rectangle deal.
