hi guys and gals, I'm new to the forum and about 3 months in on my tank. I bought a rock shortly into starting the tank, and really have no idea what is on it. if you guys could ID what is on this that would be great :)

I see colonial hydroids, not something you purposefully want to introduce.

Thanks for the replies! I will read up on colonial hydroids. Do you know what the mushroom looking thing is at the 1 o' clock in the photo is? it hasn't really grown or done anything. it is hard to the touch and a light brown color

Welcome to R2R! It's algae, probably bubble algae. Take the rock out of your tank and see if it looks like it has fluid in it. If so, remove and rinse in salt water. You don't want it in your tank;)
