Cant wait to see photos from when you "do" know what you're doing because these are pretty impressive in my books
Good to know. I've never used a real camera and I know nothing more than a couple basic features. I know a small bit about editing but not a ton. I transferred these straight to my phone and used the factory advanced photo editor to make some slight tweaks. The camera did most of the work.

I may use this thread to post future pics, but my aquarium is not my only subject. I convinced my wife I needed a camera to take pics of our daughter so I can carry this over to all my hobbies.

Not my best work but I like the dark contrast.

Not really as I'm still pretty new it it myself. I have been using Sony's free Capture One software to edit, you get a discount on the pro version with a sony camera as well.

Edit: I really want to get a macro lens but can't afford it right now so got extension tubes instead. They help with taking picture of corals that are close to the glass.

One thing I have been having some trouble with is getting the colors to look right after processing them. Idk if it's the software I'm using but the greens are never right.

Here is my flickr where I have some of my favorites so far.

Just a little edit on my phone. I don't know if I'm happy with it.

Just a cell phone pic in pro mode and light touch up in lightroom.
