Here is some pictures from my treasured and deeply missed 180g. It was my pride and joy for 10 years before it had to be dismantled

Here are some pictures that was taken a while ago on my current 105g. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures. . . More videos but nothing posted online. I also due to health issues don't do as much with the present system. So it doesn't look quite as nice

The Marine Aquarist was my favorite for many years not sure if many people remember them. FAMA and of course the one that started them all Tropical Fish Hobbyist.
Back in the day, if I remember correctly tropical fish had all fish in the magazine and barely and salt related stuff..

Haha. . . That's because in the early days there was very limited saltwater articles. Back when I started saltwater was basically freshwater with salt added! Here is a picture of one of my tanks back in the early 80's

My first tank I treated it just like fresh, just like you said. I put declore drops in, had a hydrometer to mix salt, then prayed... But it did work. I was able to keep nem's off of a standard flouresant fish bulb. A lot has changed and you have been at it way longer than me.....

I forgot to mention also in those days undergravel filters were all the rage. . . only because they were supposed to be great in freshwater tanks

Also this might blow your mind one of the other reasons saltwater wasn't that popular when I started this hobby in 1969 was all the tanks were stainless steel rimmed with slate bottoms! All glass tanks didn't come out till the 70's

Actually that is very close to when all glass tanks came out. This is me with my glass tank in 1971. I think all glass came out about 1967 or so, I really can't remember. I do remember all those rusty metal framed tanks I had before that . :D

Well guess what your correct! I was curious so I looked up All Glass Aquarium which was the first company and they started in 1967! I didn't get mine till early 70's
