My daughter just called me from up at UCSB, at the end of the conversation she asked me to send her a bunch of pics of the corals, she’s into it and picked out most of the frags we added while she was home a month or so ago. In the last couple months I sold/traded a bunch of corals taking up prime real estate, and got a bunch of Acros because I wanted to start transitioning to predominately Acropora in my mixed reef. While taking the pics for her I realized 2 things, 1st was everything is doing pretty good and 2nd WE ARE OUT OF CONTROL (my wife is right). It’s pretty much maxed out, although that was kinda my plan, except for the @Battlecorals 2 battle boxes total of 20 frags, the others were from the lfs’s and a couple trades so as those lfs’s and trade corals grow up I will be thinning the heard and keeping the ones we like the most. Here are the pics I sent her.

The plan is to either get a 125g or so and put it where the dresser is and move the TV up on the wall or replace this one with one the whole length moving dresser and TV up on the wall. I'm leaning towards 2 separate tanks, easier dont have to tear down a perfectly good tank. That's the plan in the future.

Um, rather unfortunately a 125g wouldn't come close for a clown, presuming that you want to keep him (or her). A rather typical full grown adult is 10"- 12", though an 18"incher isn't unusual. And that's a meaty 10" - 12", they get to be big, fast bruisers in a hurry. I've seen a really spectacular specimen in a 1500 gallon reef, where he "ruled the roost" - really a cool fish!

Thread wasn’t really about the clown but, back in the day before the internet on my 16th bday 33 years ago I had a 125g I had just setup a few months earlier, at the time I had a snowflake eel and a Blueline trigger. I wanted a clown trigger so I went to the lfs I stil go to today with my bday money to get one. The owner asked me if I had the Blueline he had sold me a month earlier and I was like ya why, he said your gonna need to get a clown bigger than the Blueline to have a better chance of them getting along. So he said I’m going to the wholesaler tomorrow I will see if they have one big enough, so I go back the next day wondering and he said your fish is over there, it was around 6 inches, 8 years later he had grown to about double the size, best fish I ever had. Then life priorities changed and I took him back to the lfs and they tripped out a little, I told them just find him a good home. So I’m sure if I made it work then it wouldn’t be a problem now.
