I picked this stylo from a local. Told it was a Jason Fox Bug out stylo. Guy started it from a frag in a 40g breeder.

When he pulled it from the tank It was the size of a dinner plate and was only 1” from the surface. Instead of branching it flattened. Guessing it was from light and poor flow.

My tank is a 54g corner tank, this is a very large colony for this tank. Lighting is 315w ceramic metal halide running 10k bulb @50% power and 2 noopsyche k7s for supplemental blue. There is enough light to melt just about anything if I wanted.

I was hoping that with proper light and flow this would turn into the base of a huge colony. Color is coming back similar to what I see online. And growth is good.

Very happy to see this progress. After placing this in the tank I had to up my dosing as this is consuming approx 1dkh a day.

Placed in my tank June 28th

Picture is July 15th to today August 15th

I have something similar that I started from a small frag. Now several years later it’s good sized. I got mine from our club auction with just the name Rainbow Stylo. It’s been remarkably resilient to water parameters and always has good polyp extension. It is very heavy!! I’m glad I have it in my collection

Froth pattern is definitely similar

I would love to see a FTS! I have a 54 gallon corner as well

This was a couple weeks ago. Need to clean the glass, set some frags and take fresh pictures.

Tank has been bottoming out nutrients and have some cyano currently.

Your tank have the overflow?
I spent a while designing the sump and underneath to house everything.

Custom designed and 3d printed all the chambers in the 10g sump, 4” sock, room for the skimmer, ATS, ATO floats, room for reactor, dosing head etc

Also on top running a seaswirl, dual80mm fans controlled by the apex, 2 noopsyche k7 for supplemental and a 315w metal halide with a 10k bulb that runs 4 hours a day.

Been a fun tank but do wish I had a 90g to start with but I picked this up with another tank and decided it would be fun to do a sps heavy tank

It does not, I wish it did! I picked it up for $150 on Craigslist so I got what I got lol. Trying without a skimmer this time, but I bought a HOB one in case nutrients get crazy and I need to add it eventually. But I also don’t have much SPS so running a dirtier setup in general.

Here’s a pic from this morning! I recently changed the aquascape on the right side because the green gonipora is grown onto a plastic shelf that I hate the look of. Trying to hide it with rock if I can.

Looks good. I am partial to bow front sand radius tanks. My first saltwater tank 22 years ago was a 155 bowfront. That’s why I decided on this over the 90g I had in the basement.

I used to run a octo 100 HOB skimmer on a 75g and it worked very well.

I am having a hard time finding an aquascape I like. I glued rock to the walls to look more like a drop off and to try and hide the wavemakers. Once everything grows in it should be really nice.

For a couple years I would buy systems mostly for livestock and sometimes equipment to use on my 210 and then part out and sell the rest.

This was all built on left over parts I had collected.
I think it’s only about 4 months old and doing well.
