BRS says the K-link is a USB-C to USB-C cord. Does anyone know if you can use generic USB-C cords to connect Kessils?

Yes.

I have asked Kessil what makes their cable special and they say it is the rubber end caps that help with waterproofing. Other than this any USBC cord will work.
