I am wondering how and if anybody managed to make their K-Link ports water or at least splash resistant.
Loving the output of those lights ..not so much like the app but what I really dont like isbthe K-Link connection port right on the back of those lights...its build shabby and has no protection whatsoever againdt any water issues...these ports rust and failsoo fast as they are made from very corrosive materials on top of that.....

So wondering if anyone came up with something to protect those ports....
I am planning maybe of just adding a 1m USB-C connector cable to it and put loads of silicone around that one or plastic weld it with hot glue stick.....so actual open/close connection will be away from the actual light, away from any possible water...
Anyone better ideas or what did you guys do?

All my Kessils came with either a rubber boot or a dummy plug. In fairness I never had the ap9, but I would expect that if they thought about it for several others, they would have with the ap9 as well. Heck, they even include gaskets to help seal the ports with klink cables, so I’m certain that having those ports covered was top of mind. If you don’t have it, I’m sure they’d send you one if you call them up. Their customer service has been great in my experience.

Edit. Also they sell silicone port covers on am ah zon

The issue is not when port is not in use....yes they had the covers on them....
Issue is when in use....i have cables going to my A360XE for app control through the AP9.....
Look at how clumsy they fit...no protection from even the slightest water splashing....

The official k link cables come with gaskets if that’s the issue. Regular usb c cables don’t. I would still contact Kessil to see if they can help you. I’m sure those gaskets are available elsewhere. I’m blind as a bat so I can’t look at your pics or search on am-ah-son. The gaskets are just silicone(?) little oval shaped orings that slip over the male klink/usb c cable end, and squish between the cable end and the port to seal the connection.

Edit. Double check as I can’t be certain, but I think these are for usb c. Again, Kessil CS is great and worth contacting. Also, I don’t think this is a Kessil design issue as they include these with their cables and elbows.
