Due to being a male, in earnest, combined with my poor depth perception.. the overflow is 5" off the rear glass. I had the rock at 4"... well... You know how that goes ;)

It is a bit more crowded than i planned. Ive been at the scape build for a few months now. Tired. Ready to move on. Its time to just let it ride.

Wanted to also say thanks to @Raege. Snagged some delicious home made pierogies from him and the wife to bring to my folks for the feast. All approved. Thanks again for the pump too, glad you found it. Draining the sump will be a breeze now. Cheers.

Happy Thanksgiving All. Hope you are all safe and with loved ones tonight. Even if they have fins or fur :)

Love the scape but you will regret this if you keep it that close that a mag cleaner can't get in there ;)

Thanks bub.

The picture angle lies. Ive got an inch! LOL. Will likely just razor blade the 3 walls once a week. No mag cleaner needed, we'll see. Hope things have been good for you, laurie, and the kids. Happy turkey day.

Happy Thanksgiving...got bumped off 10 days ago :rolleyes:love the scape:cool:
U as well. Thank you suh. It'll do for this cube.

Tossing around flow ideas. Cell phone doodle? Sure why not.

Orginally i wanted 2 nero 3's back in the corners, low mount. 3" off the bottoms. Faced forwars... but the more i thinking about it...

2 smaller gyres stacked vertically, flow facing at an angle to the side walls and on to the front glass. There are small cube footprints that flank the overflow on each side. The rockwork will hide them completely. That, in combonation with the dual RFG locline returns, should give me what i need to get some fat colonies happy down the road.

I like your flow idea. Less beating on coral but still moving water.
Great score with the sump
For sure. I havent decided if im gonna run a fuge again or not. And since im planning to go for higher end sps this round, i think i may use the fuge section as the skimmer section. And pack the "skimmer" section with removable media shelves/pod hotels. We'll see.

If you don’t need a fuge I think it can be better not having one. Great for pods/creatures, PH, No3 exsport but also use up a truck load of trace that coral need. Counter productive and makes for more to go wrong

Yea i think i can manage the nutrients myself. And now i wont hafta worry about all the other variables a fuge brings to the table.

Nice score on the sump. :)
Thanks. Perfect timing too. I was scrolling thru fb market place and thinking "sump and apex". Boom, this sump is the next ad. Touchdown

Not to burst your bubble, but that section gets a lot less flow because it's a fuge from what I remember. I almost bought that one for my 90 before I built one...

Yea i gotta figure out what to house there... im buying and building the least amount possible on this one. The price of the sump is what it woulda been to build a 40b. I wanted more like a 40g cube-ish sump, but this 29 will do. Shrugs.

Do the sneakers serve a special purpose that I am not aware of?! ;)
