I personally would not use slurry in my tank. I would get a dosing pump and mix it up let it settle and dose the saturated mixture (clear) at night as top off water.

What are your thoughts?
I hate that this thread was completely bashed and destroyed, so be warned it is ugly.

I used this technique for a yearish. It works well, but it is a bit time consuming. I couldn't really get to a point where I could spend time to work on automation, but FWIW here it is.

For me it’s a gamble and there’s some unknowns. I’ll let others gamble with their systems before I send slurry through my own. I’m open to anything if it is proven to be safe. I have no problem watching and waiting. ;)

Very interesting video. :) I need some new beaker’s. What size are those (2000mL)? Are they the tall’s? Do you have a link for those?

I'm not a fan of dosing a calcium hydroxide slurry for three reasons, but folks certainly do it and some are happy with it. I personally wouldn't do it.

1. There's no chance for undesirable impurities to settle out.
2. There is a chance that undissolved and highly irritating particles can land on or near delicate organisms.
3. It is challenging to make the solution of a stable potency.
