For those of you using a kalk stirrer only if you wanted to raise your alk would you increase the time that the stirrer comes on or add more kalk at a time? I'm having a hard time keeping my alk over 7-7.5. Most of the time 7. I'd like to get it around 8-8.5 . Of course I know to do this slowly. Thanks for reading.

I would raise my alk with a two part and only use the Kalk to maintain the levels you want.

Ok I've done that and slowly it lowers. How much do you add to the stirrer at a time? For years I had a very successful sps tank that all I did was add kalk straight to the top off. I acquired a stirrer while doing my upgrade so I've been trying to make it work. Even though this tank is still mostly hard corals its more Lps then sps this time. There all still fairly small so keeping my parameters shouldn't be as difficult right now.
