If I have a total water column of roughly 220 - 230 gallons, and I’m trying to defeat a Majano infestation via feeding them Kalkwasser paste, how much can I do at one time, and at what frequency before I drastically change the water chemistry? The calcium in my tank hangs out at around 390 to 430 - I hear this is an important # to monitor while messing with Kalkwasser?

I can’t seem to find a good answer to this, but I’ve had no luck with any predatory livestock, so this is the route that I’ve chosen to take at this point in time. I’ve read the same information in multiple places online, but it doesn’t make any sense to me. I continue to read that you can kill as many of them as possible with 10 ML‘s, but 10 ML’s in a 20 gallon cube is significantly different than in a 200 gallon tank. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

It’s a little hard to quantify paste, but 2 level teaspoons of calcium hydroxide will boost alk by about 0.5 dKH and pH by about 0.2 pH units.

I’m surprised there isn’t a chart with a paste made to a certain concentration with x Powder & Y RODI water will raise DKH/PH this much PER 50 gallons or something similar.

Takes someone to set that up. :)

Only the solids matter, not the amount of ro/di.
