I think 3 would work. I'm running mine perpendicular to how they normally show them being used. My sol got a easy 2' x 3' spread on them and these have wider optics so should be even better when I lift them off the tank. Right now they are just sitting on boxes till o build my canapy and rail system

Got the canopy up. Just need to setup the light bar then build the cabinet doors for top and bottom.
