The tank looks great!! Can't wait to see it with the new additions!!
I took the 20high into the basement and removed one pane of glass and changing the dimensions to make it 24longx17widex12high
Could you explain what you did and why? Seems like an interesting modification that probably has some purpose I'm just not seeing.
Oh, I think I see. You basically turned a 20 high into a 20 shallow (rimless and without the bottom trim).
Gold coral banded shrimp are hiding for now
Tank looks great! \Gold BCS are pretty shy, but you can usually coax them out with some food. We've kept pairs of the Golden and Yellow BCS and they both have much milder temperaments than their cousin (Stenopus hispidus).
Thank you, yeah definitly they have been shy. Its kind of annoying but atleast I know its a better scenario if down the road I combine this tank with my main tank with cleaner shrimps I will most likely have better luck than their cousins. They havent killed any hermits or battled my emerald crab which I heard the red/whites do. They are fun to watch when they are out though. Hopefuly once they get bigger they will stay out more, but they are pretty small at the moment..

The Gold species (Stenopus zanzibaricus) are cleaners in the wild. In our larger tanks, they setup "shop" and advertise their services much like skunk cleaners do, but they are nowhere near as bold as the skunk's. Our Angels, Tangs and Foxface Rabbitfish seem to enjoy the grooming. We've kept the Gold's with Peppermints and Skunk cleaners without issues, but each had their own territories.
I dont know if I still qualify but the tank starting leaking on the top so I tossed everything in a 10 gal and it doesn't look too good lol I lost a couple things that I'm not too happy about. A gold cbs disappeared and pincushion urchin was eating its heart out than it died.
Wow, so sorry to hear about the leak and losses.
