Hey was wondering what you guys use to keep the fresh salt water mix fresh/clean in your salt mixing stations. I currently have a powerhead on and the pump also recirculates the water in the bin. Should I add a filter sock to clean the water or add some activated carbon. Any ideas?

I don't use anything in the fresh saltwater tank. There is no heater or flow pump. My Fill pump for the AWC draws water from it. Once filled from the mix tank it takes about 3 weeks to use it up. The mix tank has a flow pump and a pump to transfer contents to the fresh saltwater tank when needed. I use Reef Crystals and have been doing it for almost 7 years now. I use 20 gallon brute trash cans for my three storage tanks. The tanks are in my garage which is not cooled or heated. I only change out a total of 1000ml a day but it is split between three times a day. So only a small amount is changed at a time.
