keeping the sand clean in Pico/Nano systems?

Heya folks just wondering what some good tricks are for keeping sand looking good in pico and nano systems mine looks like hot garbage right now lol.

How small a tank?

size of tank is important. People have different opinions on vacuuming sand, by I do a small section every week. Perhaps some smaller sand sifting snails depending on how much microfauna you believe you have.

5 gal but i have a bunch of rock in there it is challenging to work in.

My conch does an awesome job! I got it from George actually.

But also the stuff on your sand looks like its just part of the uglies phase. Hopefully will get better soon.

I would try some smaller sand sifting snails. IT may be too small to support a medium-large conch long term, but I bet a few narcissus would be in heaven.

thanks I can try that out and when they get too big I can move them to one of the larger tanks
