Just added a Kenya tree coral first day it opened and stayed open all day. day two and three its stays closed or partially open. I have kessill lights 360we perimeters are cal 380 dropped from for 410 5 days ago. alk is 9.8 mag is 1280 ph 8.3. sal 1.026 temp78.4 .I know the fish seem to have a curiosity to it maybe that could be or is this normal till it gets used to tank and new lights. lights are set at 60% color 70% intensity.

Give it time to adjust to the tank and flow. They can close up for long periods of time. Once it settles in and starts growing you won't be able to kill it with dynamite.

I almost bought one of those. Kenya Tree. They are inexpensive, comparatively speaking.... You'll have to let me know how you like it.

Kenya tree is by far the hardiest coral I have personally kept, seriously don't worry too much they are hard to kill unless you totally nuke your tank. The best part- even when you think they are dead, a small remnant of their branch left on the rock can regenerate into a new colony in no time.

everyone says they are bullet proof. I had one and watched it melt away in about four months. I think they like water a little dirty. I have no nitrates. same thing happened with my clove polyps. all my other softies and lps are doing great. I just can't seem to keep the easy ones.
