Hi Guys.

I've had my Kessell AP700 for 4-5 years and have been quite happy with it. Until last week that is. Three or four days ago, I plugged them into a new power strip and they just froze. The light was still on, but there was no instance of it in the app, and the light was stuck in it's current state. So I figured I just needed to start from scratch, add a new instance in the app and reboot. The instructions say to press a couple of buttons on the front display (down and plus I think) to activate it's wireless feature and reconnect it to my home wifi. But.... those buttons didn't work. In fact, none of them did. Even when I tired to press the power On/Off -- nope, nothing. Grrrrr. So, I unplugged it (light went off then of course)it and left it unplugged for a couple of hours figuring it had just over-heated and needed to somehow cool down.

But unfortunately, now when I plug it back in, there is zero power. The power on button doesn't work, nothing works, it is just dark/non-functioning. I checked all of the wiring and they are securely plugged in, so that's not the issue. Is the light just "dead"? Do I have to bite the bullet and buy an expensive replacement? And if so, is the Kessell AP700 still a smart choice for my 75 gallon mixed reef (mostly soft corals)? I don't love the Kessell app, but like I said above, I've been happy with the lights prior to this point all things considered.

I'm attaching a few shots. Thanks in advance guys.

Gordon

Sounds like your light might be toast. You can buy that light again or go with a similar replacement. Hopefully others will chime in with a light that will fit your tanks needs!
