What color spectrum are you running to get your fluorescent corals to pop?

I find the default tuna blue setting seems very white to me. Are you cranking the light all the way blue, do you add some violet, red, and or green?

Share your secrets to making your corals really shine.

Thanks

I dont really run mine at blue too much only during the evening between 7 and 9pm(1900-2100). Otherwise it's more white to the human eye. Coral popping is great and all, but the shadows get to be really deep if no whites are running.
White is more for humans than the corals or fish. And forget taking pics with out a lens, if you're running ultraviolet and blues 100%

One thing to always keep in mind is that the pics or videos you see online of coral are always doctored. Special lenses are used to give the appearance you see.

Thanks Lloyd. So are those photos with a filter or straight from your iphone(or android)? And what settings are you running your kessils at? The default tuna blue or have you tweaked it? Looking for the color and intensity so I can try different things to see what looks good.

Your Corals seem to somewhat fluoresce in your photos without your background looking only blue

The first part of your question is that when I ran these kits over my primary display I had the schedule set to all channels 100%. I did not attempt to change much as I'm not too much into the heavy blue or AB+ look.

Here is a multi page thread with members talking about the light and their setup. Not sure if it will help you or not.

The difference to you and I with white and blue is negligible at normal levels. The phone/camera on the otherhand is blue centric. So it will always appear more blue through a lense. I have tweaked mine to be more white for the high powered 1200-7 time frame and ramp up and down from there. I think this summer since the tank is next to a giant window ima let sunlight do its thing and just run the light at night see the corals. This last 2 pics, are the difference between lenses and without...

Thanks for the link. I’ve done a modified BRS setting from that thread you shared and am really liking it.
