Hello everyone, so I replaced the fan with the noctua fan recommended. The fan does not turn on. I thought maybe I should check if the Kessil original fan works outside of the light. Well it does. So the issue is probably on the board. I don’t know how to fix that. Any ideas?
I would do what you've probably already done - closely inspect any connections and clean with alcohol to rule out poor connections. I forget if Kessil has a secondary fan output that could be used...or maybe another 12V output? Sorry that thing is not behaving.

Hello, I am an aquarium hobbyist who also loves repairing vintage stereo equipment. Yes the nocturna fan is a perfect replacement. Here’s the process step by step:
1. Remove the two Phillips screws.
2. Pull off the knobs for color and intensity
3. Unscrew the nuts at the base of those shafts
4. Pull the unit apart, but look for the green circuit board surrounding the fan(that will stop you) Take needle nose pliers and squeeze the white standoffs sticking up through the circuit board and pull the circuit board free.
5. Pull on the fan and cut the rubber mounts free(your new fan comes with better ones).
6. Cut the red and white fan wires close to the fan.
7. Strip those wires and cut back and strip the new fan wires. Ignore the yellow.
8. Solder the red to red and electrical tape it.
9. Solder the black to black and electrical tape it
10. Electrical tape the wires together for strength.
11. Get your new fan and reassemble but remember the fan writing goes down.
I’m gonna replace my other one as well and will post pictures. One of the keys is to not try to reconnect a patch cord into the circuit board. Also the standoffs will hang you up(two little white raised bumps on the circuit board.

Do all the kessils use the same size fan? I'm doing a fan replacement on an H380, and looking to do another on an H160 but I want to make sure it's the same process.

Old thread but was very helpful. The fan on one of my A360s kept locking up and the light would shut down because of high temp. Replaced the fan with the one mentioned here and working perfect now and silent. I've gotten five years out of my four A360s so far. here's hoping I can get a few more years.
