I am currently running 2 Kessil 360we and notice lots of shadows. I was looking into getting the aquatic life t5 Kessil hybrid does anyone know about this fixture and if so does it have programmable time settings?

I have it on my tank. It's a basic light. No features, no dimming, you provide the timer. It has two plugs to run each bank of lights. It has individual reflectors for each of the 4 bulbs.

I really like the aquatic life fixture with kessils. I had the 36 inch fixture with a kessil ap700, and I absolutely loved it. It is a basic on off light that you can either put on a timer or control with an aquarium controller. One thing I would highly recommend is doing the single cord modification to it. This take the unit from two power cords to just one.

I've been following too many lately :p
Metal halide t5 hybrid :D
But absolutely look into the aquatic life fixture. It's a really great option :)

My opinion is shadows get blown way out of proportion. Kessils are a point source but they have an excellent lens with a huge spread. You can take advantage of that spread and mount them quite low which seems counter-intuitive to what many believe when it comes to LEDs. If your tank is less than or equal to 18" width, mounting the light no higher than six inches above the water will keep all the light within the tank and reflect a lot of usable light off the sides of the tank to illuminate those shaded areas.

T5s are an excellent choice and can certainly enhance your array with a plug and play setup that is hard to beat. With that said, I'm not a huge fan of the AquaticLife solution. Compared to the two bulb, 54w LET retrofit I was running prior to the AquaticLife Hybrid (purchased for our 150g but curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to play with the new toy), it only provided a 21% increase in PAR with two additional bulbs. Based on that, if you have a hood over the aquarium and aesthetics aren't that important, the LET retrofit provides way more bang for the buck. You can refer to this for some of the data I captured between them.

I'm setting up a frag tank (30 Breeder) with the 36 inch Aquatic Life fixture and a Kessil 350WE (might add another as well). Where did you source the plug that takes the two fixture plugs to one?

Thanks!
