Let me know if you like the Kamoer pumps. I was looking at a single for now. I'm done adding red Sea equipment.
Mine isn't the Bluetooth version, it's the Hydros one but I think they're the same just mine is controlled by the Hydros app. I'll try it out and let you know.

Several people are using Kamoer and love them. I believe (unless it ended today) CoralVue has the Kamoers on sale right now.

Leonardo passed away while I was at work. Didn't notice much other than his stomach seemed rounder lately. 2 years. Everytime I lose a fish, I try to figure out what I did wrong. Just a part of life. Im going to trim some plants out tonight, make some room in there. I do a water change each week, and trim. Testing the water tomorrow.

From the pic it looks like you provided him a beautiful environment where he could hide if he wanted and your water change schedule no doubt kept it a healthy enviroment. I would say that Leonardo lived out a pretty normal lifespan for a betta so don't feel like you did anything wrong.

My first real regret is buying this red Sea skimmer. It's a touch to big for my sump made it work. Turned it on at the manufacturer set water level, over flowing. I bought a three level stand on second level, it is barely bubbling over, but slowly putting water in the cup. I have it running back into the sump. If it don't line out in a week or so I might sell, and reconfigure. Also bought the model that don't hook up to the controller, my effort.

On a good note, I have some corals in the tank. Started all for reef today, and bought my Hanna alkalinity tester.

Well I came to this thread to follow along, and the last post was complaining about a Red Sea skimmer. I've been battling with my RSK DC 300 for years and am about to pull the trigger on a new one.

Sorry for your loss, but looking forward to following along in your tank journey. If you make your way up to the Chicago area, let me know and I'll buy ya a beer!

It don't sound like it is going to work for me, LoL. I might follow you on the new skimmer tip. I plan on seeing Chicago soon, I'll take a beer for sure. Then I'll buy a round of whiskey!

Some people swear by it, but it’s either under or over skimmed for as long as I’ve owned it. Eyeing a few options, but giving this another crack after some tuning…

I’m in the suburbs, about 40 minutes from downtown. Give me a shout whenever! If I happen to have anything able to be fragged I’ll send you home with it.

All skimmers require a break in period, some skimmers just need to be broken...

Best tip I can give for now, remove the cup for a week or two and let it overflow into the sump and break in. After that, put the cup back on and dial it in. It's probably going to take a week or two of adjusting to get it right where you want it (or in @mjszos case, 3 years).

I always had good luck with my Curve skimmer once it reached break-in. Also, my IOAOI was my favorite skimmer I ever owned until the urchin ate my cord...

I need some suggestions for a small skimmer for my red Sea 250 g2 sump. I have the reef mat 500, and my red Sea skimmer there just not enough room. I guess I'm needing one that's controllable, and easy to maintain. Not much luck with the red sea RSK.
