Ran another test. Again DKH 5.5. If thats true and the salifert test kits are way off then we have a problem. But if the KHG is wrong and I start increasing the KH, then thats another problem. The pH reads 7.8 which is the same as my APEX and Seneye.

Please follow the installation video. You must run the machine at least 5 times in order for it to settle down. Make sure that your KS reagent is properly mixed and not just swirled around.

The pH probe on the machine is NOT there to read the pH of your salt water. It is there to read the pH of the test solution as the reagent gets mixed in. There are two ways to read alkalinity. One is the human eye detecting a color change but the other is a chemical change where the pH changes from 4.5 to 4.0. Since the machine does not have an optical device (it would be too expensive to make) it uses the pH probe to detect the falling pH inside the testing solution. When the testing solution falls to 4.0, it is the equivalent of changing color from red to blue.

I've already noticed some visual changes, yesterday my WWC Red Shortcake frag was REALLY red. Everything looks "happier" at this point in time. I really think the KHG caught the fact that I was running chronically low alkalinity.

I notice that. I just switch over to a new reagent with my Red Sea alk test and with the new test reagent my reading were alarmingly low. Thank you for doing this thread. I should start my Auto water change by the end of March;)

Jonathan, please head over to www.coralvue.com/support and submit a ticket. I will be able to get more personal information from you then and we can get this solved right away.
Im getting password error for some reason when trying to submit a ticket. And resetting doesn't seem to work also. Can I send you an email?

btw I ran the test 5x and still only got 5.5DKH. I checked the reaction chamber and the small white agitator is there. Hope I haven't got a faulty unit.

Good to know!

For anyone that is wondering, mine is fastened to one of my bulkheads above my filtersocks with a stick on cable tie holder and cable tied around the the downpipe. (It works perfect for me, and It's easy to remove if I need to).

These are what I used (I took a picture of a smaller cable tie so it would fit in the picture, but you get the idea)

Yes, you need to make sure that there is enough space between the wall and the unit so it can vent properly. Otherwise, the unit will overheat and it will affect the performance in the long run.
It has enough clearance. I can't find the white magnet. Its not in the box. Please see my email.

Ok so it turns out I was missing a white magnet/agitiator in the reaction chamber that was giving me false readings.

Last KH: 9.90 pH: 7.69
CKI=240 NT: 231 min W: 161 AutoMode: 1
P: Stand_Shake SYS: AC_ERR!

Carlos was quick on the case and will be sending me out one on Monday.
Kudos to great customer service from CoralVue. Looks like I have to wait few more days to test this gadget!
