You have to give me some time I am a long haul truck driver and all the files are on my desktop pc. All you need is a usb programmer, ( Sparkfun Pocket AVR Programmer https://a.co/d/cACIcFe ) and if you use my skematic that i posted you will find an ATmega2560 or 2550PA. With avrdude you can read the chip and backlog/save the file on your pc. Now, there is still a second chip that i did not have time to probe in but that is for another time when i will have some time to spare. Maybe when I will get back home now that you raised my interest....
Any updates on this?

I wouldn't use it.

Simply buy 0.1N HCL on ebay or direct from Hanna.

There could be some contaminants that you certainly wouldn't want to pump back into your tank.

Ask yourself how much money you have invested in the tank and whether it is worth saving $5 on a cheap product from Home Depot.
whats the mix rate of 0.1N HCl or N1 to rodi you using?

was using 4ml to 1533 muratic acid for few years but now its way off not sure why. so im planing on changing to 1N mix

I’ve been using generic muratic acid from Lowe’s for years now with no problems. I use 3.5 ml per 1500 mg weight of ro water. I let it run several tests with the new mix and perform a reverse calibration using my Red Sea test kit. I love my guardian and would recommend it to anyone. I tried the trident and wasn’t impressed and the cost of the reagents was a deal breaker

So the only people to share a recipe have been the folks suggesting muriatic?

No one who has suggested .1N or other standards has said mix xx of this standard to xx ml of RODI.

Anyone?

I think this is only because it is much cheaper to use stuff off the shelf than to purchase a standard solution ($10/gallon vs $35/quart). My reagent batches cost less that $0.05 per batch.

I use 5.5ml of 37% HCL to 1500ml rodi. There is a test you can perform to confirm your concentration is within tolerance laid out in this video:

Ty Sean, I forgot you had a khg.

Agree my cost to run is high for my liking. I'm looking for someone with the standard and then also considering what you laid out the 37% solution.

Well, I'm using a Reeffactory kh keeper+ which uses a 0.02N reagent, which I'm pretty sure is a different strength to the khk which I believe is 0.03N.

I simply use Hanna 1N HCl which costs me around $30 per litre retail.

I dilute 1+9 to make 1 litre of 0.1N (using a calibrated volumetric flask rather than a balance).
I then dilute 1+4 to make 0.02N.

Been using for almost 18 months with the waste going back into the tank.

So it makes 50 litres (13 gal or so) of reagent for $35.

It's simply not worth using hardware store muriatic acid with the added dangers involved.

I do use Muriatic acid for dropping Alk when I mix saltwater, but that's a different kettle of fish

If you want to use a .1N standard the it should be a simple 9 to 1 solution of rodi to .1N standard... *I think... maybe it would be 10 to 1 IDK math is hard. The reagent is a .01N concentration.

Dude that's what I'm saying. I failed chem 2.

Why do you think I went into business. What I tell all my engineering friends. But they still play off my good ideas :)

So who's a smarty pants. One of the folks suggesting using the standard solution surely.

Come on peeps hit me with the details. 1500ml RODI to xx ml

Wow, busy day.
I added the two latest firmware updates from February as well. One is an all new interface. If someone wants to try that out and share how it looks it would be most appreciated.

Here are the files:
_V9.3R69L (02/03/23) CheckSum 21019058
Traditional interface

_V9.3R76L (02/03/23) CheckSum 19843687
All new interface

And as always they can be found here.

so if i understand correctly, the final krs ready to use is 0.01N? or the reagent bag before mixong is 0.01N?

if the 1st that means 10ml of 1N into 1000ml rodi will make 0.01N

from what sean saying 15ml of 1N into 1500 i guess is what gives 0.01N

The final 1500ml KRS is a 0.01N solution. The bag is a concentrated solution.

I guess I would ask what the opposition is to using off the shelf 37% HCL?

If impurities is the issue... we are talking about 5.5ml over 2 or 3 months and that is only if you push your waste back into your system.

So let's say that the reagent grade is 100 times more pure...
You get 5.4945 normal stuff and 0.0055 other stuff. Maybe my math is off but you get the idea.

If that is worth the cost for you then great.

Remember that 37% is a grade too. It also meets a standard which can be relied upon.
