I hate the name game so much, and this is a particular example of that. Is there any difference between Midas and tuttis?

two clear differences: the midas is on the left cheaper, tutti is on the right and more expensive.
Hmmmm I see your point lol. That's part of why I hate the names stuff. It's all about who named it not about what the coral is

If you hate the name game why not buy either the one that's cheapest or the one that looks the best to you? As you said the name game is exactly that, just a game to attract buyers. Means absolutely nothing unless your looking for a particular piece with lineage. Unless that's why your asking I apologize, I know nothing about zoas as I can't keep them alive in my tanks.

Nah, just curious. Honestly I have dozens of small colonies and only can name a handful

Looks like the only difference is price and availability.

I have 3 or 4 different types of zoa's. The only one I can remember is the Rasta Zoa's, and that's only because they are very appropriately named considering the coloration.

Rastas are some of my favorites. Next to white zombies

I also catalog what corals i have so i remember them. But I agree, if the colors are the same, get the cheaper one.

King Midas and tutti frutti are both venerable strains that, given their lengthy time in the hobby, get confused with each other and are, at times, sold as each other.

In short, the defining characteristic of tutti frutti are its orange mouth and mustard yellow coloration. The main lineage king Midas came from Planet Zoa and are a solid shade of gold/yellow. They won’t morph into each other.

Names are limited in their usefulness on newer strains in this day and age. In this specific example there’s a defined difference, albeit between two ‘yellow’ zoas.

Attaching a side by side pic with both strains under under the exact same parameters.
