question is directed to you.
you had mentioned that you were waiting for the sump to arrive and will be running a klir filter on it, correct?
yessir, it has not arrived, I expect it to be here in the next week or two. I will be attempting to run two Klir-7's in it.

I was having problems with the motor running the whole spool due to bubbles on the sensor. I realized that the acrylic of the filter stand was touching the glass of the sump so I spaced them out - problem solved. I think it was getting some sort of refraction / reflection that was tricking it out.

Klir and Bashsea sump photos. It looks like Rob.bucek and I both trimmed the top plate to slide in the Klir. Here are some photos of the corners I cut out of the circular opening of the top plate. Also shots of the sump and the Pax Bellum ARID N24 with the calcium reactor packed in behind it. Also, you can see the AquaUV 25W Classic sterilizer. The return flow goes 100% through the UV at a rate of 520 gph.
Tank has finished cycling and is currently maturing slowly before adding life and lights.

Haha brotha, exactly! I tried to communicate that to him ahead of time but I failed. I honestly will own that. He isn't familiar with klir's and I failed to articulate the cut out. Fortunately it was a simple fix. Literally applied painters masking tape around the unit as it sat on top flush and used a 21 tpi jjig saw blade. Looks factory install and quite functional. I talked with Steve from Bashsea at length on this via phone. He's Interested in learning more about supporting klir's. In the end it works and still looks good.

Can't remember exactly. Might have used a dremel with abrasive cut off disc or a die grinder with a fine carbide bit. Tape the outline first and follow up with a fine hand file.

Can't say why they post what price they do, but as far as I know you can only order replacement parts for the Klir's direct from them with the exceptions of some open box products. I lost some rubber plugs and i needed the 'Y' cable and they were shipped fast and cheap. I assume coming straight from CoralVue that those would work just fine and the prices are really low. If I needed another one I'd buy these in a heart beat.

I have a jigsaw.. but isnt it too big and messy with the jigsaw? I think it may be easier to use a dremel but not really sure. I think I only need to make minor corner cuts.

Who cares about messy, you have a tenth of the hand control over a dremel vs a jig saw. You can vacuum up chips but you can't fix a sloppy cut. FYI, they both remove the same amount of material so neither will produce less chips or mess.

This is what I need to cut. But my sump cant be moved, its in the cabinet and cannot be moved out due to wall clearance. I do have a jig saw but will have clearance problems when I get to the other side, which has some 1.5" pipes.

Full view.. I think I may be able to have the clearance as long as I can twist that red valve out of the way. Okay I will do it your way, the jig saw!
