I’ve been trying to get this coral for a while. I haven’t seen it any LFS in NJ or NY though and haven’t had luck ordering online so far.

It’s a tank fav for soft coral, it’s not a fast growing coral for me but it’s steady. Have some frags here and there but not via branclet drops.

I like it better under a slightly whiter spectrum, but Koji Wada is definitely a centerpiece softie coral:

Under a whiter spectrum and orange/yellow lense (8 sec small frag and 23 sec main tree, although not super happy):

It is a much slower grower than something like a kenya and very sensitive to other leathers (run carbon regularly), so a bit higher price is justified, but really no one should be spending hundreds of dollars on a softie. $100 for an expensive coral ahop or $50 from a hobbyist is what I'd say is max reasonable price.

Actually mine just showed up, alive, and still warm. Tidal Gardens did a really nice job with packing. I was thinking that it was a bonehead move on my part to have shipped the week after Black Friday…but all is well.

I picked one up at the CT Frag Farmer Market last year (March '24). He's been growing steadily since! Still growing the same way on the same plug - he's got four main trunks/branches now. As others have said, it definitely looks best under a natural/white spectrum.

Thank you! A key difference, and one specifically important to me, is that it also does not self-propagate like kenya trees or some other "finger" leathers. Same for the green sinularia in the second pic!

Super Nice! How long have you had that coral inside the sandbed? Never knew that was possible
