I had a Fowlr tank almost 20 years ago and decided I wanted to get back into the hobby and really glad I did. I got this Nano tank through Bulkreefsupply and was really happy with their service. I set it up cycling right before Christmas using Dr. Tims ammonia and Brightwell Bacter7. I have set up a Reef-pi using @ranjib’s guides and @theatrus’ pico pc board. Right now it is just controlling the ATO, checking Temp and turning pumps on and off. I am adding some easy corals from the recent WWC Tax sale as of today. Along with setting up the tank, I built a stand and matching platform bed frame that the tank sits next to. I already have the bug to get another larger tank setup, thinking about the IM 40 AIO this time because I really do not have the room for anything bigger.

Equipment
IM Nuvo 14:
1 Kessil A80 Tuna Blue with Spectral controller
IM MightyJet 326 return pump
The stock pump used for ATO
Reef-pi =ATO, Temp sensor
Cobalt 75w Heater
SICCE SIC 652 Powerhead (otw from Amazon)
InTank Caddy/Fuge baskets
Vivid Creative Aquatics Random Flow Generator
DIY Screen top kit
Seachem Matrix
ChemiPure Blue Nano
20lb Bag of CaribSea Pink Fuji Aragalive
MarcoRocks Small Foundation rock and other sizes. (really bought way too much for the size tank, so I guess I should put together another tank)

Tank livestock:
Ocellaris Clownfish
Photon Clownfish
6 Snails
2 Hermit Crabs
1 Peppermint Shrimp

I got the SICCE powerhead in from Amazon and everything was all broken apart in the package so I am returning it, think I will go with a Tunze 6015 instead. Also, I might have gone a little overboard with WWC Tax Craze sale and bought one or two too many corals along with one I should not of. I will post some pics below. Ended up getting an Agent Orange Echinata, WWC WOW Acropora (probably should not have got this guy but seems to be doing okay so far.), Blue Fire and Ice Zoa, Green Star Polyp, WWC Red Ring Aussie Lord, WWC Bronco Berry Cyphastrea, and a the free frag was an Acan of some type. Trying to decide where to place them for their more permanent homes around the tank. I know I will place the Acro up high in more direct flow for sure. Any advice on placement would be appreciated!

Green Star Polyp finally started coming out today then one of the hermits scared it away.

Thanks, that was my second attempt. First attempt left way to much open area and it kept bugging me until I redid it.

For that size and shape tank I think you nailed it. I like open space and yours has plenty without looking empty. It all changes as coral grows out though. Looking forward to seeing how it matures.

Nice! I have an IM14 as well. https://www.reef2reef.com/index.php?threads/455315/

I'm interested in your lights. I bought the Current IC 18-24 inch, but I'm not thrilled with the timer set up.

To be honest, I wish I would have done more research. I love the Kessil shimmer but should have gone with the A160 instead for more power. If you want more light demanding corals I would look into that. The spectral controller has been great for setting up my light schedule. I ramp up then ramp down over a 12hour period and once I figured out how the Acclimation mode worked it's been great.

I just set up an IM40 that has just started cycling and I plan on getting the A360X so I would recommend Kessil for sure. If you want something that is all inclusive I have heard the AI primes are good for the IM14 but you don't have the shimmer that Kessil has if you want that.

So it has been about 7 months since the startup of the tank so I thought I would put up some new pictures. Basically decided to make this a Zoa, LPS tank since I am limited on space and light at the moment.
