Excited to start a new thread on my new office build and track the journey!

I’ve had aquariums for 12 years. Started with a fresh water tank, and 3 months later i knocked a wall out in my old home and built a 400g aggressive fish tank. From there got into some corals started a reef and havent looked back. I love the challenge of a SPS dominant yet mixed reef.

Here is my old home office set up. consists of a 210g display with a 70G frag tank and a 90g sump.

I planned on using two standard Aqeon tanks for sumps 55 and 75g and connect them. Went to drill the 55 and well you can see from the below they are now using tempered glass on the sides!! Called the company and they stated they do this randomly depending on glass supply what the heck no marking on glass or tank other than the bottom panel.. so had another sump custom made a little larger for that area.

OK- system has been running for a few days now ( fingers crosseD). Next I need to move over my water changing station from my other system in the main home. and get all the RO water ready to refill the tanks with RO/salt. Ill also start hooking up the equipment and laying out the equipment, and board area.

I am trying to think of how to create the light rack. I thought using Aluminum T rax would be best. I need to suspend all the AI led's and need two of them to be at an angle to get around the glass bracing. Anyone aware of other threads on this or others using this? or a better method?

Please excuse all the unfinished carpentry. in the photos. Once all teh equipment is in and I know the basic layout and function of everything I plan to have the fish room finished with doors and skins. And the office side will also be done with a canopy, bottom skin and design to match the design being done for my desk.

Here's a few update shots.

Not bad, each tank has two 3/4" drains with Herbie overflows into a acrylic overflow box. they then combine into a 2" drain pipe underneath. Most of the noise is coming from where the water enters the sump/filter sock area. I extended to pipe to submerge the 2" drain, 1" into the sock and that cut about 70% of it. Over flows are quiet. once everything is cased in and cabinets hopefully be almost nothing. fingers crossed.
