I haven't seen a colony of a kung pao monti. Is the care and lighting the same as every other monti? My lfs has a few frags of it and i want to get one i just don't want to fail and die on me since my lfs is asking for a pretty penny.

Here’s a picture of mine under 14k MH. Not exactly a colony by my standards, but I’ve been working on it for a little while now and it’s bigger than the 1/2 dime sized piece it started as. They’re not an absurdly slow grower, but certainly won’t put on size at the same rate as your standard issue montipora capricornis or digitata. Mine is on the sandbed receiving about 250-300 par and moderate flow. Ignore the hydroids on the back side of it. I just coated them in kalk paste tonight so hopefully that did the trick and it can continue to grow both directions. As of now the hydroids have forced it to grow only one direction.

here’s another shot from the front just under blue LEDs.

If you consider fragging this bad boy, let me know.

Beautiful coral!
Hi Jenuvio. I have about 20 frags available right now. But I don’t ship. Pick up in Los Angels area. Thank you for the compliment

I’m also in the LA area and would love to grab a frag of this too if you still have some left!

Thank you for your interest in Kung Pao monti. I still have plenty available chunky frags.
PM sent to you.
