So I can do water changes and not run up and down stairs to open and close valves. I plan to use these for drain and fill all activated from the stand.
Be careful with solenoid valves to control saltwater. There's no guarantee the metals inside are safe for reefs. Additionally, there has been some conjecture that the heat generated by solenoid valves can cause calcium carbonate to precipitate on the valve and interfere with it closing.
I'm not against the idea of simplifying water changes. Just be careful using these valves.
Personally, I would just install ball valves in one location so I could do the water changes manually that way. Open one valve (or two) to drain the water, close when finished, then open another valve to re-fill with saltwater, and close when done.
Testing the sump. I probably would have done a couple things different. Probably would have raised the filter socks some. I may still cut some acrylic rings to glue on the shelf to raise them up a 1/4”
Good thing is it’s really quiet. This reading was 12” in front of the sump.
Is that a P-51 in the background?
Yes it is!
Beautiful plane. The wing is the give away. If you don’t mind me asking, does it fly well and who makes it? I have a few warbirds myself.
