Large Hermit ID

Color me surprised when, one day, one of my black hermit crabs moved into the large snail shell I got for my pistol shrimp to build with.

It's pretty harmless right now (save the occasional knocked over SPS) but I'd like to know what it is, how big it gets, and if it can become a hazard.
