hey guys,
i have a 56g display and asked for a small purple serpent star in my coral shipment this week. i guess they didnt have any small ones? i have one in the bag now that is bigger than my hand (just less than 1 inch diameter disc, with arms extending beyond hand), my other striped serpent is palm sized.
my question is is it safe to keep? i have just bought wrasses that like sleeping on sandbed, they are really timid right now too. its much larger than i expected and i wanted to know if anyone had experience with larger versions of these and their livestock. I have only heard of brittle stars being aggressive, while these are mainly detrivores.

Should be fine if like the one shown below your describing. I have one and no issues and you might not even see them other than feeding times where an occasional arm rises behind a rock, lol

I also asked the same question and only heard some of the other non smooth variations or colors can sometime be an issue but the smooth purple have a good reputation and I would also agree from my experience so far.
