I'm not sure because of all the algae growth on it, but I think it's a conch

I'm pretty sure this is what it's supposed to look like

I believe it is a murex snail of some species. Be warned, most in this family are predatory and eat other snails. They grow to around 4"+ depending on exact species.

I wouldn't worry too much about target feeding it. It will grab extra morsels that you feed your fish. If you don't have fish, then you can just do a few mysis. Silversides is too lrage and will lead to negative parameter.

Will it eat polyps or coral?

That will be up for debate. I have not had one, personally in my reef, but would rather not risk it and place in sump. I would assume corals would not be it's first choice for food.

It's in my back compartment, I have an evo 5 so there's not much place to put it

Ah, I would probably not try to keep it in such a small tank to begin with. Even if it was an algae grazer, it would still starve since it is already so large.

Well I do have another 5 gall covered in algae, it's where my blennies live I cld move it there

That's the issue when you don't find out what something is before buying it :). I would return it and inform the LFS to what it might be.

It's not that simple, the lfs is abt an hour away and I don't drive and my parents are rly busy
