I have a 53 gallon tank that currently sits on the stand I built which is 36”x18”x32”. I don’t want to upgrade size of tank as I like this size. I’d love to upgrade my stand to accommodate more equipment. Has anyone made their stands with larger foot prints then the tank itself. I’d like to do this but want to make sure it’s supported correctly. Any pics or plans would be great!

Larger is not a problem as long as the supports fall under the tank corners too.

This is my 75g stand that was built to accept a larger 125g later. Note the legs in the back. Those aligned with the ones next to the doors to support the corners of the 75g. It worked great.
