Largest powerhead without a power supply and controller

Can you build a cheap pvc base to keep it in position? I was going to do this with a fluval sp2

I'm going to be so bummed if my rosemonts do what yours did.

A sicce voyager would do the job and is bullet proof just huge which doesn't matter in your use.

Give yours a chance.
Every pump has a fluke one every now and again.
Some more than others, some less.

I really just need to find a decent, long lasting magnet mount powerhead for my mixing barrel.
Probably going to give the sicce pump a shot next.

Personally I found that the internal pumps all eventually quit on me for some reason when using them in a mixing tank. I had a used external pump that I plumbed in and since then have never had an issue. I only use one inside to keep the saltwater in motion after the salt is mixed now. A couple bulkheads, pvc and flex tubing is all you would need to plumb it in. You can add valves to make it easy to get the water out too.

I appreciate all the responses to the thread, but I have to say, I'm really not looking for a different way to mix my saltwater.
I've been doing it the same way for decades.

If it doesn't fit the criteria I've listed, I really don't care what you use.

I'm really only looking for the largest powerhead that doesn't use a controller or a power supply.
I also want it to be a magnet mount.

Yeah, that is probably the best one in that flow range.

He's looking for a power head but I'm glad you posted it. I forgot about those and it fits a need of mine perfectly

I think this is probably your winner. Very dependable from what I've seen and price isn't terrible.

Yea but since he said tried a return pump but it spun thought perhaps my experience with the model if placing it on the bottom has never spun. Although it sure would if not on the bottom!

The Sicce pumps seem to be great and move a ton of water. The biggest complaint I've heard is their size, but for mixing saltwater, who cares.

Hopefully, this was just a freak thing and everybody else's are fine.
While it worked, it really seemed to move alot of water.
Plus they are very small and compact.

Not just you. I hooked these up only 1 out of 2 ran right and its loud....like drowning out aquaclears with an 1/2" of evap in the same room loud. To be fair they're 2nd hand, but not that old.

Magnet is crazy strong and has good flow. Honestly I broke out a couple of old beater hydor evo's and they're doing a better job. What a kick in the nads.

After the refund was done, I bought a Sicce Voyager 8 which is 3200gph.
I will probably pick up the HP-10 model next paycheck.

A friend gave me a mag 18 a couple weeks ago and I glued a ceramic magnet on the back to hold it to the side of the barrel.
I tested it out yesterday in my 70 gallon water change barrel.
I let it mix out overnight and was going to do a water change first thing this morning.
Fortunately I tested the water temp before removing any water from the display tank.
The water temp was 86.8. It was all from the pump. I forgot to add a heater to the barrel.

Yeah, me too. I got a bucket with a few dead jeboas in it. None were a year old. One was about 3 months old and only used once.
