Around 3 weeks ago I run in to some problem with my water supply below the DSB. I used a dosing pump. Water from the sump pumped up to the inlet for the plenum. The tube came off and the check valve did not work – water on the floor. It happens tvice!!!

I decided to reconstruct the water supply of the plenum. I got a very small adjustable DC pump and I installed it in the refugium – no tubes outside the aquarium!!!

In order to control it – I will in the beginning use a cyclic timer – wait 5 minutes – run 1 minute. I have adjust the flow to 100 ml/minute. The Profilux has 16 dedicated dosing pumps functions. I took one of these functions and connected it to the index of the outlet I use. Filled up (virtual) 30 000 ml. Put in my calibration figures and now I can see how much water that flow through the sand bed. Later on I will manage the flow through the redox electrode

The algae grows very good and looks very healthy for me. And I agree with you – It’s a shame that I can´t see them better (and of course – all life in and around them). They have been growing for around 8 months now and it looks like I got a good balance for them. I harvest around 3 litres Chaeto every third week – and some other algae as well.

I have been away for vacation for a couple of weeks and found my aquarium in very good health when I returned home. Some parameters has changed but overall – it was good.

Yes it is.

IMO one of the strangest genus I ever have seen. The colours can change from red to green – depending of what – I do not know. The first I introduce was red when I got it – turned to green after a while and now the tips turning to red again. My Birds Nest are much branched – why – I do not know either. Someone has proposed the high pH may promote branching

I have one that is doing the same. I had a tank crash over the winter, the birds nest looked as though it was gone. I left it in the tank because it had a tiny bit of life, and now the birds nest is coming back to life and the branches are like the one one you have.

Love the Possum Wrasse! I have one and a Pinkstreak Wrasse in a 20 gallon and they are very peaceful towards each other now. I was surprised that there were some attacks from the Possum Wrasse the first day the Pinkstreak Wrasse was introduced but it didn't last long at all.
