Lawnmower blenny identity crisis

So my lawnmower blenny thinks it’s a watchman goby.
It is digging out under my rock and spitting substrate all over the place.
Has anyone else come across this, and why is this little crackhead doing this?
This has now cause my wrasse to take notice and spit gravel back at the blenny from time to time.

This critter is doing this to a few different location in the tank. That’s what I’m not getting.. sure it could be building a nice little home, then a second house in the country and a vacation spot.
All I know is it is making a mess..

Yeah they can be weird. Mine thinks he is a Anthias and swims in the water column with the rest of the fish.

Mine shares a burrow with a shrimp goby and 2 engineer gobies.

Humm, I've had a lawnmower blenny for two years, my first and only blenny. Last night I discovered something was digging a cave. It was the lawnmower. This is a new behavior for him and came here looking for a potential reason.

I'm currently looking for another blenny personality to add to the tank, perhaps a midas.

Mine just started doing this , he’s brining sand to the top of the tank and spitting it everywhere … also digging holes under rocks , this behavior just started within the last 24 hours …. He is also eating like crazy constantly (more than he’s ever done) he also takes the biggest poops of anyone in the tank by far …. All day long , they look like rabbit droppings …. SMH
