Starting to document my journey on this Waterbox 15gal peninsula that I won from @SaltwaterAq during their Tanksgiving giveaway!!
It took probably 2 months to decide where I wanted to put this and what I was going to stock it with. I will dive into this a little more later on.
This past weekend I took a day and worked on the aquascape, I think it turned out nicely! Also started working on building a stand for it to match the stand I built for my 29gal biocube. Here are a couple of pictures of the rockwork

Nice. I'm goin to be setting up the same tank soon (in the mail as we speak). Look forward to seeing what works for you. Nice rock structure there so far. How many pounds of rick is that?

I think I am going to transfer all my softies and a couple euphyllia over and turn my Biocube into a more SPS dominant tank since my first acros seem to really be taking off in there.
Equipment for this project is pretty simple, I'm going to stick with everything that comes in the Waterbox package. I will be adding a cheap Amazon LED, have one on the biocube and they are growing corals like crazy!! I will add some brightwell biocubes to the filtration to ensure I have plenty of biological filtration.

Thank you! I ordered 10lbs of Marco Rock and used almost all of it, 8-9lbs there. I also am adding in a few of the Brightwell Xport cubes for a little extra just in case.

Got more of the stand done after work today. Going to start painting it and get ready to skin it. Hopefully not too much longer until I get water in it.

Three coats of paint placed on today, started cutting the ship lap to skin it with. Hoping to have the stand and tank in place by next weekend!

Progress has slowed way down. Been working overtime every week and the kids have started flag football so lots of practices. Last night I brought stand the in and started to skin the outside. When my wife came home from work she didn't like how tall it was (even though she told me to build it match the biocube stand). I'm glad I didn't finish the whole side, on the bright side that will be the new height so should be easy to chop the legs drop it down.

Forgot I ordered the light last night. Going with this Amazon LED, should be more than enough for the softies and possibly a few LPS.

Light came in yesterday and I mounted it to see how it looked. It might be a little bit too much for this little tank

So I didn't like how big the light was, looked very bulky. So I'm searching for another one. In the mean time I cut the ABS boards for the bottom and put the rockwork in. Filled it, no salt yet but wanted to get things moving and clear off more of the dust from the rocks.

Water cleared up nicely, been blasting the rock with the powerhead in all different places. I will most likely drain it and fill it back up with saltwater this weekend. As well as finish the outside shiplap. Oh also forgot I decided to go bare bottom with black ABS under the rockwork

Looking good! What type of coral are you planning on keeping here? I might be able to suggest an appropriate light (trust me, you want to get it right the first time). Hope you're able to return the amazon one!

Thank you! For now my plan is to move all my zoas, mushrooms and maybe a couple of euphyllia over from my mixed reef Biocube. Would like to free up space and make it more SPS dominant. I was able to return the Amazon light, love how easy it is. I may end up just getting another Hipargero A29 since it is doing so well over the biocube.

I have a tank similar dimensions to yours, with yours being slightly wider and taller, and I don't think the A29 would be the best choice here. I had it on mine for a few months and switched to an AI prime and there was a HUGE difference (I'm actually working on getting a second AI prime to get rid of shadowing). If you actually want to keep an SPS dominant tank, id recommend getting a good light like a radion XR15 or XR30
