Leather drama

Hello! I’ve got a yellow Fiji leather that’s always been a source of drama. It seems to be very finicky about water quality, more so than my other leathers. Also unlike my other leathers, I have never seen it shed.

For the past few days, it has been closed and shriveled. My other LPS and softies are out and extended, but the Fiji isn’t. This might be a dumb question, but is there any way that these little bumps could be a new leather forming/growing through the rock?

There was already another baby leather attached to the rock when I bought it, so I’m curious if this could be what is happening. Or is it something else? Whatever it is, it almost appears to fluoresce.

Closed and shriveled happens when its molting, but other effect will be high phosphate. lack of water flow and too much white light intensity. Moderate light and medium flow best. Using a turkey baster, give it a few bursts of water to release any sediment and it should perk up within hours
