Most use activated carbon to remove any toxins released.

I've had two fairly large toadstools in my 30g sumoless with my acros and sps and have seen no adverse effects.
I've had several larger green sinulara in my 55 with various acros sun corals dendros and lps and several gorgs with zero adverse effects.
