Hey guys, I am upgrading from 3 gallon to a 20gallon about 16"high and 2 feet long. I asked my go to tropical reef place for any LED lights they would recommend and they said this.

http://www.marinedepot.com/Current_...D_Lighting-Current_USA-CU04110-FILTHO-vi.html

The total wattage is 36w for the 24-36 it seems to have alot features and spectrum coverage.I was wondering if anyone more experienced in LEDS can vouch for them or perhaps recommend a better light? Stock in the tank is probably going to be a pair of false clowns, some corals, an anemone, and a small CUC. Budget is 200-400$

I'd loom at getting a used radion or the Oceanrevive units are nice too. I have one and preferred it over my kessil.

for $30 more I would just get the AI hydra 26 or the ecotech xr15. Better coverage and reliability

Yea, I use 2 of them on my 240g tank. I have them mounted to my canopy. They make a u channel device that goes over the tank, that they fit in. Or you can make your own channel. Or you can get some egg crate from Home Depot and lay it across the egg crate thats laying across the top of the tank.

I have TrueLumen Pros, also a current USA product, running over two soft reef tanks. 33 Long and a 29 bowfront. In my opinion you may not need a ton of light with a depth of only 16" and likely your corals will not sit directly on the bottom making them even closer to your lights.
I run the 12K/actinic "Marine Fusion" fixture and a straight actinic fixture (453nm). The power supply is separate, and you will need two of them if you want to run your lights on independent timers. I source mine from Amazon and right now for the 24" ones I am seeing prices for fixtures around $50 each.

http://www.amazon.com/Current-USA-T...1433234575&sr=8-12&keywords=truelumen+pro+24"

That one comes with a dimmer, power supply, splitter, and mounting brackets for under $70 total, a good price for this in my opinion.
Please don't take this as a plug for amazon or this seller just an example of what is currently available.

Let us know what you get.

Got the mounts had to make some adjustments as they were made for different lights, now all I need is a filter and to do rockscape. I've seen people use PVC pipe to make the structure more stable. Anyone have any insight on this ?

Ok guys mounts are on the light will hang about 3 inches from the top of the tank and about 4 from the water is this ok or should them higher?

In they can be hung like this, which adds a couple inches of space
