Leds without lenses

Just removed my lenses from my leds and the light is much better I know it went from 90 ton120 but I can see the difference in the corals they opened way better and the colors are way better too, much brighter and it lid the tank alot more even though I didnt have dark spots but is much clearer now what do you guys think?

Your fine with that, it appears much brighter because the light isn't being focused into an area anymore.

True but I was noticing that the corals werent opening like now can you maybe explain the difference its creating

Non focused light, were your corals acclimated to your LED set up?

Set them up, and just put them over corals that werent' used to the high intensity of light?

Just keep in mind that LED Optics are like a MH Reflector...

Yes, back In The Day...Some of us used 400 watt MH Lights with excellent results...

Corals open up to expose more symbiotic algae to available light...Not to mention type...

What are your PAR Readings?

For SPS and Clams on the sand bed 200-300 PAR is acceptable.
