Leopard Wrasse Sleeping Habbits

So I don't know if I have a lazy leopard wrasse or what, but he kinda just rests most of the day. He's been in my DT for about 3 weeks now. Today he was on his side resting on the sand bed. A hermit crab woke him up and he moved somewhere else and laid down. Is this normal? He eats just fine and isn't breathing weird or anything. Do I just have a lazy fish?

It's still early...was it quarantined? They're usually pretty active once they've fully adjusted, but it can be a month or more before they get themselves on the same schedule as the rest of the system's residents.

Mine in quarantine was doing that before it wasted away and died. I believe it had an internal parasite... I'd pull her out of the display and get her into quarantine where you can feed her some General Cure/Focus. Mine would eat live brine only at that point, so i was limited on medicating her food... she then quit eating completely and then there wasn't anything to do but watch her waste away to razor thin.

Put some sand in quarantine for her to relieve stress.

Normally I QT, but didn't with this fish. After taking a closer look she does look thin. I'll try to catch her asap and put her in QT. Thanks for the advice everybody

Definitely not normal behavior for a Leopard Wrasse. If it was buried in the sand for a few days then that would be one thing but resting on the sand bed isn't normal for them.

Yes, I keep a dish of sand in my QT, and have a sandbed in my DT

Then I would say that doesn’t seem right. Mine is either active swimming or buried in sand. Sorry but not sure what it could be
