I believe I received someone else's online order. I ordered a Carpenter's and a radiant but this doesn't look like either?

It looks like a fairy?

Thank you. I have a few Halichoeres, two leopard, and a lubbocks.

Is the C. rubeus going to be an issue with these? I don't want to add anything aggressive.

Can you please identify these. They’ve been sold as 2 juvenile lineatus wrasses.

One is more orange but can see the dark red colour coming. The fins when open are beautiful but don’t see that very often.

Sorry about the pics, they never stop swimming around

First orange fish (youngest I assume) are pics 1 and 4. The other is pics 2 and 3

Neither is, as you seem to suspect.
The red fish is C. rubripinnis.
The darker fish is probably C. cyanopleura - do you have a more clear picture of that one?

Probably okay; depends on the size of the tank.

Cheers, I’ll try and grab some more pics tomorrow when the white lights are back on. The orange wrasse is turning dark red/purple like the other.

It seems juvenile fairy wrasses are like Xmas crackers, you don’t know what you’re getting haha

TY

80 gallons, 4x2 footprint so not huge. I put him in my 25g frag tank for now as I may just rehome him since he wasn't what I ordered.

I could argue that this wouldn't be the case with a competent retailer...

Eh; could be a bit dicey - just depends on the attitude of both the lubbocks and the rubeus.
It's unfortunately common for careless retailers to label rubeus as an assorted flasher.

(There's a theme here) :)

The wrasses came from a reputable retailer, however that can differ from competent. I guess I’ll just have to see what they turn into when they mature. I’ll send some pics tomorrow. Cheers

Ya I am not sure what happened. I picked the retailer specifically because the fish were not drop shipped from a wholesaler but my order was all screwy (missing fish too). Everyone else reviews had great perfect looking fish.

I feel like I have the worst luck online though... so 100 perfect orders, mine would be the one to go wrong tbh.

True that!

I pulled my Tang out of the tank and sumped it before the new fish arrived just because.... well Tangs can be butts to new fish... accidently frag/broke a bunch of SPS to catch it.. only to put all the fish in my 25 anyways  Rotten luck today.

Hopefully the retailer will make it right, that is all that really matters, no one is perfect 100% of the time. At least Fedex didn't lose the package for 3 days, I hate seeing posts like that.

A friend of mine recently bought this wrasse and wanted to know what it was. I have looked but can't find anything similar. Hopefully you can ID it. Thank you!

Hunter, I need your expertise once again. One of the LFS has this guy, and they have no clue what it is. I don’t want to bring it home without being able to make sure we can properly care for it, if it’s something we even want. Thanks!
